Grandpa Jupp liked to drink beer, but Grandma Henni was against it. So they argued from time to time until they both agreed that grandpa could drink exactly one bottle of beer a day. So every day Grandpa went with his shopping bag to get his bottle of beer at the kiosk. When he arrived at the kiosk, Grandpa ordered a beer from Karl, the owner of the drinking hall, "Kalli, hömma, gippse me my beer?" (Karl, would you please give me my beer). And Karl put a beer bottle in the bag.
Grandpa had a secret appointment with Karl, which of course no one was allowed to know about, and so Karl secretly put one-two-three more bottles in. Then he gave the bag to Grandpa, who set off home with it.
On the way, he passed the allotment garden where grandma was weeding. "Draw me what you have in the weeds." (Show me what you have in the bag.) And grandpa showed that there was exactly one bottle of beer in it and nothing else. Grandma let him go home unmolested.
Once there, grandpa unpacked his bag and had 1-2-3-4 bottles of beer and he immediately poured himself a glass.
